📖 The weekly intergenerational Bible study meets via Zoom on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.
We will be beginning Timothy Keller’s video series The Reason for God, a six-part series in which Keller engages in conversations with six people who are not Christians. He responds their questions to give us an example of how to answer the questions that the world may throw at us. The series looks engaging and should be beneficial for anyone interested.

With God’s help, we continue to grow! We have already heard from a number of people who are interested in becoming new members of our church (not just adherents).
If you are new to our church and would like to become a Professing Member, please join us for New Membership Classes immediately following the Sunday Worship Service on the dates listed. To become a Professing Member, you must attend all three classes (each approximately 30 minutes long) and have been in regular Sunday attendance for at least six months. Make-up classes are available if you miss any sessions.
This is a great opportunity to get to know our church family—and for us to get to know you better.
What is the difference between a Professing Member and an Adherent? Come and find out! We are seeking mature and faithful followers of Christ.
Note: The official New Membership Sunday, when new church members will be formally received, will be announced at a later date.
We had our first meeting of the 50+ Club for the fall season on October 21st, with 17 “mature” participants in attendance. My assessment: everyone enjoyed the refreshments, had fun, was encouraged by an inspiring talk by Nicky Gumbel (a follow-up to ALPHA), met some new members, learned to “Think Fast,” and shared ideas for future gatherings (scheduled for the third Tuesday of each month).
I normally send this update only to those who have attended, but I’ve asked to include it in the next general mail-out of What’s Happening at St. Andrew’s—thinking some of you might be curious about what we’re up to and what the 50+ Club is all about.
By the way, everyone is welcome to attend—we don’t check age cards! So, feel free to join us or drop in for a visit anytime.
The second meeting was on November 18th. Hosts: Doris & Tim Sabean. We’re never quite sure what Doris and Tim have planned — but it’s always exciting! We enjoyed a devotional with some words of wisdom, shared coffee/tea and snacks, sang a few songs (in preparation for visits to seniors’ homes and perhaps a “club song” during a future worship service — John Betts, take note!), and planed our upcoming activities.
The third meeting was on December 16th. Hosts: Judy Wood & Pauline Ward. We had a Yankee Swap! Each person attending brought a wrapped gift valued at $10 or less. In a swap, everyone select a gift, with opportunities to trade for another as they’re revealed—until everyone ends up with one. If the gift is specifically for a man or woman, it should be labeled accordingly; if it’s suitable for anyone, no label is needed. Along with the Swap, we enjoyed our usual activities—coffee/tea, snacks, devotional time, and prayer.
The third meeting was on January 20th. Hosts: Angie & Marius Page. We met at church for coffee & snack, followed by a devotion time (as a devotional we listened to Nicky Gumbel's talk number 3 of "A Life Worth Living" "A New Attitude" based on Philippians 2:1-11), and then went for a walk at YMCA Moncton North (My first time on the track there and highly recommend it as a very nice place to walk especially in winter. It is easy to access and anyone is welcome at no cost. They also have a number of other activities you can access there, which you can explore).
Looking Ahead
Next Meeting: Tuesday, February 17th, at 10:00 AM, at church.
Along with our regular activities, we will be practicing some songs with Doris to sing at The Salvation Army home in Riverview on Monday, March 23rd @ 2 PM. Also, we plan to sing a song as a group during the offering during worship on Sunday, March 22nd.
More ideas we’re considering:
Going bowling
Visiting an Escape Room (yes, that’s how it’s spelled!)
Sharing a meal out together for special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, or holidays like St. Patrick’s Day or Valentine’s Day)
Hosting a movie night
The options are endless—and we’d love to hear your suggestions!
That’s all for now (I do sound like a radio host, don’t I? I always wanted to be one!).
If I’ve missed anything, please let me know.
Hope to see you all on February 17th!
Warm regards,
Harold Wilson

"Ephesians: Wholeness for a Broken World" by Andrew T. Le Peau and Phyllis J. Le Peau
"Broken marriages, shattered friendships, racial divisions, war between nations--we live in a fractured world. How can the pieces be put back together? In Ephesians Paul lifts the veil from the future to allow us to see God's plan to unite everyone and everything in Christ. Studying this book will renew your hope."
This is a home group Bible study whose face-to-face meetings take place on alternate Sundays evening, at 6:30 pm.
We would love to have you join us. If interested please contact Elizabeth Eagles

The meetings usually take place on the third Saturday of each month, at the church @ 8:00 am.
This is also an intergenerational group. It's a fantastic opportunity for men to gather to lean on each other for support, accountability, brotherhood and aiming to grow in faith and spiritual maturity.
This intergenerational meeting is generally held on the fourth Saturday of each month, typically accompanied with sweet goodies. The current book is "Women of the Word" by Jen Wilkin - How to study the Bible with both our hearts and our minds.
Next meet on February 28th, @ 9am, at the church. If you're able, please bring a breakfast item to share.
Do you have questions about faith or life? Are there topics you’d like to explore or experience more deeply?
If there’s enough interest, we may offer a course or Small Group series on your suggested topic during the autumn season of 2025, held on Sundays. Depending on the content, it may be open to all or geared toward a specific age group or life stage. The series could run for a few weeks or span several months—we’re still figuring that part out.
We want to hear from you! The survey will remain open all summer, and all responses will go directly to our Lead Pastor (don’t worry—he’s friendly and won’t bite, we promise!).
Let’s grow in faith together. Click here to share your thoughts.
